Narain is the Best Newcomer of 2006 in Tamil

The Tamil Cinema Mandram has selected Narain as the Best Newcomer of 2006 in Tamil cinema for his performance as 'Thiru' in 'Chithiram Pesuthadi' directed by Mysskin.

Here's an excerpt from the review of Chithiram Pesuthadi and Narain's performance in the movie by Natarajan Sivakumar:

About the movie:

The story was nicely scripted and the flow was very good. The attempts of Thiru to come back to regular social fold could have been shown better and also his attempts to reach Charu could also have been shown better. Reason why Thiru goes back to his boss after being rejected by Charu was not shown well enough. Other than that, the story moved me and the sequences were narrated very well.

About Narain:

I think, to rate one's acting as very good is not enough credit to get. When we say that an actor as 'acted' well, it means that actor kept himself at a distant from the role he is doing. Narain's role 'Thiru' seemed as if it was made for him. I could not see acting (except couple places, I will tell, where) from NarainThe body language, the look, the movements are all, as if he 'is' Thiru and that was more than acting....I thought, Narain's natural 'self' must be like Thiru and I knew that is not true, so to say he created the impression that he was Thiru, which is the great thing an actor could do the role he is doing. Narain has done that! My sincere appreciation to him.  Any work in this world has room for improvisations and the areas that Narain could focus on improving are : ...at times Narain's soft spoken nature showed up through Thiru, when Thiru is rough too. Romance scenes....not sure if it is because Thiru is reserved or Narain was, romance scenes could have been more expressive than they were; Song and dance....I know it is rather a curse that every hero has to show skills in dancing and that is true for you too. It is given that Narain has to dance and he certainly could focus on this part to reach the heights in his carrier faster..

An Actor is recognised by how easily he defuses to his character. And ofcourse Narain has the ability and been awarded Best newcomer actor on this basis.
In Character like Thiru there is only little importance to Dance. So it is not a curse. And nobody criticize any actor on his dance. A very good example is Superstar Mammooty.

How many good dancer is good actors?

My comment for Narain: A little progress everyday adds upto Big results. Go Ahead!!- Meghna

Anyone who proposes to do good must not expect people to roll stones out of their way, but must accept their lot calmly, even if people roll a few more upon it.
